Career

  • Dr. Roland Sterzel has been working in the field of intellectual property protection since 2006 and has been a patent attorney since 2009.
  • After completing his doctorate, Dr. Roland Sterzel gained practical experience in research and development from 2004 to 2006 as project manager in applications research with the Rational AG in Landsberg am Lech. There he worked primarily in the fields of sensors, measurement and control technology and also mechanical engineering. His research led to 6 patents granted and more than 20 patent applications as inventor and co-inventor, both in Germany and abroad. 
  • After completing his studies, Dr. Roland Sterzel wrote his doctoral thesis between 1997 and 2003 while being a research associate at the Institute of Physics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main. His doctorate was awarded “summa cum laude”. During his doctorate he was responsible for supervising the DFG research project "Quasicrystals: Structure and physical properties" and the operation of a scanning electron microscope.
  • Between 1993 and 1997 Dr. Roland Sterzel studied physics with focus on solid state physics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main. His diploma thesis on the topic "Production of Si-SiO2 composites in the skull melting plant" was written in cooperation with the Schott AG in Mainz. 
  • During his studies Dr. Sterzel received the study sponsorship prize of the WE Heraeus Foundation for his outstanding achievements.
